Produced in boutique style, Canto Wines believe in quality before quantity. Our wines are thus made with meticulous effort in order to ensure the end product has pure fruit, a richness in texture and complexity while being approachable.
CHARDONNAY MCC
This 100% Chardonnay MCC is made in the traditional French Method Champenoise. It was whole bunch pressed and spent 2 years on the lease. Riddled and degorged, the dosage is French Champagne. It is a classic sparkling wine with extra fine bubbles, beautiful mousse and richness in texture. A wonderful yeastiness comes through on the nose and finishes with a slight butteriness.
PINOT NOIR MCC
Another traditionally vinified Methode Cap Classique, this Pinot noir has a beautiful salmon colour. Its palate reveals a lively presentation of rich strawberry and cherry flavours derived typical from Pinot Noir – with an elegant dry finish.
PINOT NOIR / CHARDONNAY MCC
This MCC is a sophisticated sparkling wine that has elegant bubbles with notes of berries and apple. Other flavours include freshly baked bread with a fine balance between fruit and acidity.
SHIRAZ MCC
This wine has a light feminine pink tinge, and shows ample fresh fruit intensity and body, leading to a crisp, dry finish. Saffron and strawberry aromas dominate the nose, while the delicate mousse is an explosion of extra fine bubbles that charm the palate.
SAUVIGNON BLANC
This classic style of Sauvignon blanc shows true typicity of the region. With ripe, tropical flavours on the nose like gooseberry and melon; it has a crisp and fresh palate with well integrated natural acidity and a long mouthfeel.
WOODED CHARDONNAY
It is the ideal example of a well-balanced wine with finesse and complexity. It has citrus notes combined with butteriness on the nose and finishes with a creaminess and complexity. Enjoy with fragrant chicken and cashew nut curry.
MERLOT
The nose shows notes of oak, violets, plums and cherry. It has a subtle taste of black berries, plums and a deep earthy taste. Beautiful soft tannins combine with the rich ripe fruit flavours ending in a wine with great balance and elegance. Abundant rich flavours of plum and black cherry give way to a deeper liquorice note. With a good structure, the wine is medium/full bodied with juicy fruit, wonderful texture, fine grained tannins and a silky finish.
PINOTAGE
This wine has notes of red berries, mocha and some spicy flavours on the nose. The flavours carry through on the palate ending with hints of roasted coffee. With a good structure, the wine is medium/full bodied with juicy fruit, wonderful texture, fine grained tannins and a silky finish.
